For three centuries, we trained humans to think like machines. We built entire systems of education, work, and worth around the capacities that could be measured, standardized, and optimized: logic, output, productivity, and control. We called this rigor. We called it professionalism. We eventually called it meritocracy.
Then we built an actual machine that does all of it better.
This is the moment so much of the current AI conversation has been circling around without naming directly. And I want to name it plainly: AI is not the threat. It is the exposure.
The Exposure
What AI is exposing, with a speed and clarity nothing before it ever could, is that we have spent three centuries valuing only half of human intelligence — and it’s the half that a machine could eventually learn to copy. Analysis. Optimization. Production. Speed. We built our economies, our promotion structures, and our definitions of competence almost entirely around this half.
The other half of human intelligence — intuition, embodied knowing, relational attunement, meaning-making, the capacity to sit with ambiguity without needing to resolve it immediately — was never absent. It was disqualified. Treated as soft, unscientific, and unprofessional. Coincidentally, or not so coincidentally, it is also the half that has been most associated with women, with indigenous ways of knowing, with the traditions the dominant paradigm called primitive on its way to calling itself progress.
AI did not take your worth. It exposed that we had been measuring the wrong half all along — and that the half we dismissed is precisely the half a machine cannot generate on its own.

The Reunion
I call the correction Whole Intelligence. WI, not just AI — the full human capacity, analytical and intuitive, mind and body, individual and relational, organized by purpose and integrated by intuition.
This is not a rejection of the machine half. Analysis, rigor, and optimization are genuinely valuable, and I use AI in my own work every day. Whole Intelligence is not anti-analytical. It is the reunion of the analytical with everything we severed it from to build the world we currently live in. Not instead of the mind. Alongside the body, the gut, the felt sense, the knowing that arrives before the explanation does.
Every woman I have worked with who has felt the specific exhaustion of high achievement without fulfillment has been living, unknowingly, at the site of this exact severance. Excelling at the half that was rewarded. Starving the half that was never permitted room.
The Direction
Here is what makes this moment urgent rather than merely interesting: artificial intelligence will optimize whatever we tell it matters.
If our scoreboards remain the same ones that built the severance in the first place — output, speed, efficiency, growth for its own sake — AI will become extraordinarily good at delivering more of exactly what already left us hollow. We will have built the most powerful tool in human history and pointed it at the wrong target with even greater precision than before.
But if we correct the definition — if intuition, care, meaning, and embodied wisdom finally count as real intelligence, not decoration on top of it — AI stops being something we race against and becomes something else entirely: the greatest catalyst for human flourishing we have ever built. A tool finally in service of the whole of what we are, instead of only the fraction that was easiest to measure.
AI does not need a different future. Humanity needs a different definition of intelligence.

Why I’m Telling You This
If you have read the other pieces in this series, you have already been standing inside this idea without the name for it. The research shows women bring leadership qualities in disproportionate measure — empathy, collaboration, and transformational leadership. The embodied knowing that lets you sense a threshold before your mind finishes building the case for it. The presence that makes you impossible to ignore without needing to be the loudest voice in the room. Every one of these is Whole Intelligence, specifically, by name. You have been carrying the other half of the equation the whole time. This just gives it a name and a paradigm large enough to hold it.
This is the actual work of The Uprising Collective, underneath every session and every framework: helping women reclaim the half of their intelligence the old paradigm disqualified, and teaching them to lead — in tech, in AI, in rooms being built right now — from the whole of who they are.
If this named something you have been sensing but did not yet have language for, I would love to talk with you about what reclaiming that whole could look like in your own leadership.
